In this episode, I interviewed Alyssa Gallagher (@am_gallagher), an educator, administrator, educational consultant, and author of Design Thinking for School Leaders: Five Roles and Mindsets That Ignite Positive Change, published by ASCD. We discussed how school leaders can use design thinking to make sound decisions when faced with adversity and when implementing change efforts.
About Alyssa Gallagher
Alyssa Gallagher is an experienced public school educator, school & district administrator, facilitator and educational consultant. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.A. in Educational Leadership. She has successfully led district-wide blending learning initiatives and helped schools create integrated STEM programs. Having worked in a variety of roles from school principal to assistant superintendent of schools, Alyssa understands firsthand the complexity of educational leadership and is passionate about improving the learning experiences we create in schools. She is constantly exploring “What if…?” with school leaders and works to support radical change in education. Alyssa was recognized as the “2013 Education Multiplier of the Year” and enjoys coaching leaders on the Multiplier mindsets and disciplines. She is also the mom of two elementary aged boys and volunteers whenever possible at their local public school.
