In episode 64, I interviewed Kathy Perret (@kathyperret) and Kenny McKee (@kennycmckee). Kathy is an instructional coaching consultant and co-author of “The Coach Approach to School Leadership.” Kenny is a high school literacy and instructional coach. We discussed instructional coaching when faced with barriers and the duo’s upcoming ASCD Empower20 pre-conference workshop and book set to be published later in the year.

Episode 110 features Kim Strobel (@strobeled), an educator, happiness coach, renowned speaker, author, and podcaster. During the episode, Kim opens up about her experiences with extreme anxiety disorder as a child. We also discussed the science and research behind happiness, how to overcome feelings of overwhelm and anxiety, lessen the effects of burnout, and how to help others through these feelings.

His latest book, Teacher Secrets Every Educator Must Know to Empower Students in a Diverse, Digital World, shows what an individual teacher can do to reach, teach, and empower all students to succeed in school, work, and life. During the episode, we discuss how educators can reach students who are embattled by trauma and how educators can stay positive through the trials and tribulations of the past couple of years.
