About Dr. Tony Sinanis
Dr. Tony Sinanis is the co-author of multiple educational books including “Hacking Leadership.” He is a national speaker and a highly sought after professional developer. Dr.Sinanis has served in various positions in education over the last 22 years including elementary classroom teacher, elementary principal and district administrator. Tony currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Leadership Development in Chappaqua, New York.
Dr. Sinanis began his 20-year education career as a classroom teacher in New York City schools and Hewlett-Woodmere, where he taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. He also served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Hastings-on-Hudson Union Free School District, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the Plainedge Public School District, as well as an elementary assistant principal and principal in both Jericho and Valley Stream.
Dr. Sinanis received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from New York University, earned a master’s degree in instructional/educational technology and a professional diploma in educational leadership and technology from New York Institute of Technology, and holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
What most people don’t know about Tony is that he is the first person in his family to graduate from college, he used to make extra money on the weekends by DJing, he was fired from his first real job at Macy’s within a month, his professional highlight was being named NYS Elementary Principal of the Year, his personal highlight was being a dancer on the show The Grind on MTV, and his greatest source of pride comes from being Paul’s dad!
